I want to start by saying happy first wedding anniversary to Adam and Jessica!
Photographing weddings is probably one of my favorite things. I just love getting to spend time with people on what should be one of the happiest days of their life. I think that being a wedding photographer is not only challenging but incredibly intimate. It’s your job to not only document the day but to tell the couple’s story. To really show the connection and love that two people have for each other and their families. So you can imagine how excited I was when my sister-in-law asked me to photograph her big day. Seriously, how many people get the opportunity to photograph at one of the best aquariums in the country? While photographing one of her best friend’s wedding? Not very many!
The ceremony was incredibly small and intimate which was perfect for the lovely couple. Especially because they didn’t want a big fancy wedding. They only wanted their closest family and friends there. The brother of the bride was ordained just for the occasion! Which I always think is pretty cool. Having your family involved in the ceremony can be incredibly special and a great way to make the day perfectly unique. The reception was simple with minimal decor, the playlist hand selected and had all of their favorite songs, the cake (chosen by the groom) was expertly and hilariously made. Furthermore, they did a knot tying ceremony during the reception for the people that were not at the wedding ceremony and danced the night away surrounded by the ones they love.
The ceremony was hands down my favorite part of the wedding. It took place in the shark tunnel at the Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium located in Omaha, Nebraska. It was absolutely magical! Scroll through the rest of the blog post to see some of my favorite images from the day!
As a mom and a business owner, I understand the power of a moment, the story behind a smile. Photography for me is a bridge – connecting hearts, capturing the unspoken. It’s about creating an experience that’s as enjoyable as the final product. Your ideas, your story, your essence – I’m here to bring them to life through my lens.
