I’ve known Leah since elementary school. So you can imagine how thrilled I was when she asked me to be her wedding photographer! However, I’ll be the first to admit when we decided on a winter session at the Palisades I was nervous.
Primarily because the weather here in South Dakota is unpredictable at best. Especially during the winter months. And if you have ever been to the Palisades you know that during the winter it has the potential to be incredibly dangerous. Luckily for us, everything worked out perfectly! Spring seemingly arrived (it’s long gone at this point) just in time to eliminate any icy or overly snowy patches.
As we walked around the park catching up on what we had been doing since high school, families, jobs, and life in general, you know the usual. I learned that even though she looked and looked she couldn’t find a ring that she truly loved.
Which is AMAZING! Seriously, it’s perfect. I couldn’t possibly think of anything more fitting for her than that ring. I also learned that her fiancé had actually gone to high school with us but was a few grades ahead so she never got to know him. It’s these kinds of moments that show us just how small the world actually is. I can’t imagine realizing your future husband was so close all that time! Fate is funny that way.
Here are some of my favorite images from their session! Just looking at them now makes me even more giddy for their wedding day.
This engagement session was also featured on Dainty Obsessions!
